讲座题目：An Unexpected Failure：The Intersection of Fear, Greed, and Regulation

讲座内容：

回顾硅谷银行(SVB)倒闭事件的始末，分析商业银行系统、监管机构等角色在其中所起的影响作用，反思美国银行系统的不足，探讨美国银行系统中的恐惧、贪婪和监管等系列问题。

主讲人：

Paul W. Martin Jr. has over 48 years as a financial professional in international finance, commercial banking, investment banking and all aspects of corporate financial operations. As an international banker his experience covered countries in three continents, as an investment bank advisor he structured numerous transactions for municipal, not for profit, and corporate clients through various bond financings and also served in numerous public corporate capacities including Chairman of the Board. He has been a participant in numerous initial public offerings and continues to advise private companies on their path to financial success and shareholder liquidity. He has a Bachelor’s degree with a major in finance and also holds a JD (Juris Doctor degree) Degree with a license to practice law until his retirement from the bar on his 65th birthday. Currently he is principal of Clarity Resources llc which oversees domestic and international trust investment performance for individual clients.

He has previously visited Hangzhou Normal University on the occasions of its 100th and 110^th anniversaries and is pleased to be once again at HNU during its 115th year of service. He sits on a number of boards of institutions in America and  has served as a member of the joint advisory committee of Center for Asian Studies(CAS) between Hangzhou Normal University and Middle Tennessee State University.
